Community
Organizing.

A through line in my life has been bringing people together around shared needs, shared curiosity, and shared possibility.

Sometimes that has meant advocating for fairer systems. Sometimes it has meant creating spaces for learning, music, mindfulness, and human connection.

1. Yoga After Dark

Silent-headphone takeovers in public space.

I co-organized evening yoga “takeovers” in public spaces, using silent headphones to keep the experience immersive while making permitting easier. These events brought people together for movement, music, and shared presence in unexpected urban settings. I often played live music during the flows, helping shape the atmosphere of the experience.

2. Consumer Union

Collective bargaining for an unfair fee structure.

I organized a group of consumers who were being overcharged and represented them in negotiations. In this case, the consumers were professional poker players, many of whom were paying fees upward of $100,000 per year simply to participate in their profession. After organizing collectively and negotiating on their behalf, I was often able to help reduce those fees by as much as 50%.

3. Consciousness Hacking San Diego

A local home for the intersection of inner life and innovation.

Consciousness Hacking is a global community, founded by NASA engineer Mikey Siegel, exploring how technology can support human flourishing. I founded the San Diego chapter and grew it from zero to nearly 3,000 members. We hosted talks and gatherings on mindfulness, technology, consciousness, and the science of well-being — creating a local home for people interested in the intersection of inner life and innovation.

4. Student Musician Association

Stages and shuttles for young musicians.

As an undergraduate, I organized live shows at venues near UCLA to showcase student bands and create more opportunities for young musicians to perform. To make the events safer and more accessible, I also chartered shuttle buses to take students to and from the venues.
